New research project on peracetic acid air monitoring is now financed

RESPIRA, the new research project on airborne peracetic monitoring with ROVER and UAS, was financed by Artes 4.0. Giotto Biotech and its partners, Publiacqua  and Etruria Volo will carry on the research in the next 18 months.

Research goal is to develop new systems for remote indoor and outdoor airborne peracetic acid monitoring. These simple and easy-to-use systems will be applied in various fields such as food industry, industrial laundries, animal husbandry, agricultural sector and hospital sector.

GLYTUNES proposal is now funded by EC

EC funded Glytunes proposal (H2020-MSCA-ITN-2020 call) to create a multidisciplinary training network for the bioinspired development of glycomimetics tuning the Siglec-Sialoglycan axis. The project GLYTUNES involves 7 academic partners and 4 companies (SMEs) from 7 European countries, combining world-class expertise in carbohydrate chemical and structural biology, drug design and computational chemistry, synthetic and medicinal chemistry, biophysics, biochemistry, glycoimmunology and molecular and medical microbiology.

Our partners in the project are Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, Quadram Institute Bioscience, Asociacion Centro de Investigacion cooperativa en biociencias, Stichting VUMC, Università degli Studi di Firenze, Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), Stichting Katholieke Universiteit, Atlas Molecular Pharma, Iceni Diagnostics, Glycouniverse

Saturno project website is finally online!

Our project Saturno website is now online. Saturno project is financed by Piemonte region and it aims to develop a circular bioeconomy chain through the creation of new processes and new products, with particular attention to the recovery and reuse of carbon dioxide.
Two of the challenges to be faced to make urban territories and industrial production sustainable from an environmental point of view, are the capture and conversion of CO2 into useful compounds and the transformation of urban waste into raw materials for agriculture and industry.

Kick-off meeting in Torino for Saturno project partners

Nearly 100 people, representatives of the 26 partners of SATURNO (universities, research centers, companies), met at the Envipark for the official launch of the project.

SATURNO (acronym of Organic waste and Carbon dioxide Transformed into carburates, fertilizers and chemical products; concrete application of circular ecoNOmia) is a research project that aims at developing an integrated approach for the complete exploitation of waste matrices (including carbon dioxide) generated by the treatment of organic waste.

In particular, the project is divided into three research areas:

  • creation of high added value compounds from the organic fraction of solid urban waste, in a sustainable biorefinery perspective;
  • capture and enhancement of CO2 produced by cogenerators, cars and cement plants;
  • separation and enhancement of waste plastics for the production of new components for the automotive sector.
